Veterinary staff members from the Pelican Man's Bird Sanctuary were a little surprised when they were recently called to rescue a screech owl found perched in a Christmas tree that had been inside a house for five days.
But the story got stranger still when medical staff examined the owl back at the sanctuary's hospital and noticed a sweet smoky smell coming from the bird.
Staff took turns sniffing the bird and agreed. Not only did the bird smell of marijuana, it was clearly the worse for wear.
"The owl was leaning back on its backside and 'vegging' out," said Jeffrey Dering, the sanctuary's executive director.
A blood sample confirmed the diagnosis: The owl was stoned. It was high on marijuana. Animal control does not know how it got stoned, but has nicknamed it Cheech the Screech.

Another tre day

It was a bit of a field day, Frodo's merry band of gypsies went out to shoot some photos with Snaps for some other 'zine, which was a lot of fun.Snaps dropped some hard truth on some random intellectually disabled guy.
Total number of shirts made on this day- zero.

hallo-weeners

Went to a Halloween party on Friday. The back yard was done up like a graveyard complete with a corpse hung from a tree.

Spent some time inside playing guitar with random girl, you ever tried to tune a guitar from a piano? It's not easy. The guy on the couch was annoying, but he brought a lot of bread with him which was ok.
Sam Fran Disco was killing the plates.

Moore or less River

Went camping a couple weekends ago, very relaxing. Did a lot of reading drawing and sitting on the beach.

NEW ZEALAND

i spent about a month in new zealand.. its taken me a while to get around to blogging the photos.. but here they are, better late than never..
i was staying down on the south island, in a town called wanaka

andrew and jess had a car, so we drove from queenstown to wanaka and found mari

snowboarding is pretty much the best. i dont have any action shots, but youve gotta go do it.

nz.2 Ipod battle

The girls competed in an ipod battle at red rock, they had costumes and everything. it was either a baywatch or boxing kind of theme...

nz.3 Up the island

I went for a little trip with sammy and his brother tim up towards christchurch.



got to the snow, we hit a couple of different mountains.

no action shots, but we were up ontop of the clouds..



they were always up for post snowboard beers

nights were fun too.. Me, sammy and a couple of strangers spent about 2 hours building towers with emptys one night.

Went down to woolys the other day. It was very summery and good crew was there

After woolys I went to aids' dungeon to try and work on the zine. We drew around aid's scabs from a gnar slam he had, which was funny , but not very productive. There are no chairs in the dungeon, which makes it hard to write or draw or work from a desk. You should get a chair Aiden.
The other leg. That must have been some slam, I would prob be dead if that happened to me
With any luck we may get the zine out sooner, or later.....
