Water Muppets
Went to see the traditional Viet water puppets, which I found surprisingly entertaining. This part was prob the hi-light.
blood and sweat and beers
We wound up going to that plaza three times in total yesterday, at night there's no security and it's like a play ground packed with children and crew playing soccer. I was a little tipsey and got so excited I ran face first into a tree and scratched the shit out of my face. I think it's the most I've ever sweated and the salt stings my cuts. There's still too many people to get much done, little children were beating up on us and hijacking our boards, little bastards on blades scratched me with their nails.

Spots
After weeks of pissed soaked cobble stone and broken rubble for ground I stumbled onto this plaza while playing my daily game of where the fuck is my hotel. The next day Oly and I came to give it a try, it seemed pretty quite for how inner city it was. Anything that looks this nice has a security guard, who was blowing his whistle in out-rage in no time. differant country same shit.
After gettin das boot we had to go roll around the back, which had smooth ground but not much spot wise, where we played skate to get our legs back. a kid parked his bike in front of the 3 stair we were seshin and i crushed it with my board snapping the shitty quality pedals like chop sticks.... Whoops, I had to pay off his mum with about $16 dollars. I'm a little sketched to go back, but really want to give these manual pads a thrashin. they have bumps on one side and stairs on the other, if you look hard you can see the unbribable guard in the background. We plan for a stealth night mission later.
Guess who's here?
Ha Long Bay
Went on an over night tour of Ha Long Bay, a sheltered series of lime stone islands towering over the murky green sea. Amazing landscapes around every turn there are floating villages and hidden coves among the the jagged spires. Crazy pollution and the usual tourist trappery can't detract from the sheer scale of the grandeur.
The boats you sleep on
Water caves.
On an island there are massive caves which are impressive and hard to take photos in due to low light.

My Son Temple
Found over grown in the jungle by wood cutters the temples were built by an ancient civilisation called the Chams. The most impressive buildings were used by the Viet Cong as bases during the war, consequently the seppo aggressors bombed the shit out of the place..... With intricate carvings and crumbling red brick structures it's steeped in culture and very pretty- well worth checkin out

GQ
Hoi An
After a sweet last day of mud baths and pool games we left Nha Trang on an over night bus trip that took just under 12 hours. The first class bed seats we were in was like being stuffed into a midget's coffin and I did not sleep at all. Arrived bus-lagged and burnt out but I did get to see this bangin' sun rise. Check in wasn't till twelve so we wandered the streets for five hours like zombies bickering over unimportant trivialities. I was so tired I forgot they use the other side of the road here and nearly got run over looking the wrong way. When my bank card failed to function things got kinda ugly and we were at each other's throats for a while. As usual it was mostly me. Twelve rolled up and I slept like a corpse.

Riding in the city
Normal everyday life for the locals, traffic is terrifying for us. My face says it all...
On top a mountain high
We said good-bye to Saigon and took a very long bus ride to our next destination- Dalat.
The journey took us through steep jungle clad mountain passes, up into the clouds which whisp'd between granite peaks and hung in valleys, dropping warm tropical rains, feeding streams and waterfalls.
Dalat is a pretty town up in the mountains and has a europian snow village vibe- minus the snow

Cu Chi Tunnels
That damn scorpion!
toured the tunnels dug during the war, about 80cm high, 60 wide they span over 200km have up to three levels and are damn hot. I got stung by a scorpion in the dark ten meters under ground in a space smaller than most dog-houses. Phuong was quite at home down there, not so much me. Hey what's that on my foot?
